Kevin Zieber Bio

Mr. Kevin E. Zieber (Zee-bur)(German for sieve maker), began teaching at the Red Lion Area Senior High School in the Social Studies Department in June of 1993 and is proud to be teaching in the same district from which he graduated in 1987. While a student, Kevin grew up at the south end of Red Lion on the Felton Road and attended Windsor Manor Elementary and Fairmount Middle Schools. While attending Red Lion Area Senior High School, he was active in both the theater and athletic departments. Kevin was active in the stage crew and was in the cast of Annie in his senior year, as well as playing on the varsity baseball team. He was also a statistician for the varsity basketball team. Following high school Kevin entered the workforce and worked for United Parcel Service in Harrisburg for a year and a half. He then began his undergraduate work at Messiah College and after one year transferred to Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) where Mr. Zieber earned his bachelors degree in Social Science Education in December of 1992. While working on his undergraduate degree, he was the assistant technical director for the all-school musicals at Red Lion from 1988 – 1993. Kevin then became the stage crew advisor and technical director of the all-school musical at Red Lion from 1993 – 1998. Mr. Zieber is a certified coach and was a softball coach at Red Lion for 16 years. He was the assistant varsity softball coach from 1994 – 1998 and then took over the helm as head varsity softball coach in 1999 and retired as the head coach after the 2010 season. Mr. Zieber is also the “Voice of the Lions” and has announced every home football game since September of 1993. Kevin also announces the following varsity sports: boys and girls soccer, field hockey, boys and girls swimming, girls basketball, boys and girls lacrosse, and baseball. Mr. Zieber has done his graduate degree work at Penn State University in Education and Curriculum and also at Millersville University in Religious Studies and Wilkes University in Classroom Technology. Outside of school, Kevin is a photographer/videographer for Connor’s Video Productions of Red Lion and he is an ASA umpire. Mr. Zieber also currently serves Grace United Methodist Church in Windsor as their pastor. He also enjoy playing golf. Mr. Zieber is married to the lovely and talented Mrs. Jamie M. Zieber, who works at Wyndridge Farms. They have three children together; Anah, Gavin and Weslee.
