Benjamin Saylor Bio

With 17 years of teaching experience, I have had the opportunity to educate students in a variety of settings and locations, including Alaska, Hawaii, Haiti, South Carolina, and Maryland. These experiences have helped shape my approach to education and reinforced my belief in the value of engaging students through meaningful, hands-on learning.

I earned my bachelor's degree in Education from Elizabethtown College and my master's degree in Environmental Science from the University of Maryland Global Campus. I am currently pursuing my doctorate in Technology, Research, and Curriculum at Liberty University, continuing my commitment to lifelong learning and bringing new ideas and approaches into the classroom.

I currently teach courses across the areas of Technology Education and Agriculture, including Welding, Small Gas Engines, Internal Combustion Engines, Woodworking, Agricultural Mechanics, and Agricultural Business. My courses are highly project-based and emphasize active participation, problem-solving, and practical application. Students are given opportunities to develop technical skills through hands-on practice while learning how classroom concepts connect to real-world careers and challenges.

My goal as an educator is to create an environment where students are actively involved in their learning, willing to try new things, and able to see the value of the skills they are developing. Whether students are welding, rebuilding an engine, working with wood, or exploring the business side of agriculture, I want them to leave my classroom with greater confidence in their abilities and skills they can carry with them beyond school.
