Mrs. Vanada graduated from Penn Highlands High School in Lewistown, Pa. and from Shippensburg University with a BS in Spanish and secondary education. She received a MEd in Teaching and Curriculum from Penn State University in 2000. She has been teaching at Red Lion Area Senior High School since 1984. After receiving her undergraduate degree, Mrs. Vanada lived in Central America, in Honduras for 5 years and in Costa Rica for 6 months. She also studied in Málaga, Spain with the Commonwealth Partnership in 1988.
Mrs. Vanada has a Google Classroom page for all of her classes which provides information about assignments, due dates and useful resources, etc.
The World Language Department strives to provide a unique learning experience that not only focuses on language but also culture. Even though three separate languages are taught, the department enjoys working cooperatively to share ideas and best practices of foreign language teaching strategies. The mission of the World Language Department is to encourage multicultural communication and prepare students to thrive in a global society.
