Biography

Mr. Curtis H. Crone is in his 22nd year as Director of Bands at the Red Lion Area Senior High School. His responsibilities include preparing students for public performances in Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Indoor Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, and Pit Orchestra for the All-School Musical. His other teaching duties include Music Theory I and II, and Instrumental Classes. Before coming to Red Lion, Mr. Crone taught a separate 6th, 7th, and 8th grade middle school band and a 6th grade unified arts class in the Cornwall-Lebanon School District in Lebanon, PA. Following that he briefly taught high school instrumental music in the Newport Area School District before coming to the Red Lion Area School District. Mr. Crone grew up in Windsor and attended Windsor Manor and Pleasant View Elementary Schools before graduating from the Red Lion Area School District in 1990. He is married to Mrs. Christine Crone and they have two children. Mr. Crone graduated from Millersville University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education where his instrumental focus in undergraduate school was Bb Clarinet and Bass Trombone. In December of 2000, he completed his Master's Degree in Education from Penn State University. Outside of school, Mr. Crone is a freelance musician who regularly plays with the Spring Garden Band and Spring Garden Stage Band of York and is an avid Major League Baseball fan that is currently in the process of visiting all 30 Major League Baseball stadiums across the country.  Mr. Crone's tenure at the Red Lion Area Senior High School is the longest of any band director in the history of the Red Lion Area Band and he is proud to carry on the tradition of the instrumental music at his Alma Mater.
