Amanda Weaver - BIO

Hello!  I'm a Math Teacher here, at Red Lion Area Senior High School.  The start of this school year marks my 15th year with the district!  I am currently teaching Geometry CP, Comprehensive Geometry, and Algebra II courses.  In the past, I have taught Keystone Algebra, Algebra A, Algebra B, Algebra A/B, and Algebra II. 
 
I am a 2000 graduate of Dallastown Area High School.  From there I went on to pursue a career in Accounting.  I completed my Associate of Science Degree in May of 2002 at Central Pennsylvania College.  A few months were spent working as an Accountant for a local governmental business (General Dynamics) before resigning to work on my second career - teaching!  I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree and teacher certification from York College of Pennsylvania in December, 2005.  My journey started as a Long-Term Math Substitute at Dallastown Area High School.  Before the start of the 2006-2007 school year, I accepted a full-time Mathematics Teacher position at Red Lion Area Senior High School.  I've been with the district ever since! 
 
While teaching at Red Lion, I enrolled in Pennsylvania State University's Master's Degree Program in Teaching in Curriculum.  Further, my Master's Degree was obtained during the summer of 2011.  I continue to take courses at Millersville University and Carlow University. 
 
I enjoy teaching high-school students!  Every day is different and every day is a challenge!

2018-2019 School Year

Welcome students and parents to another school year!  I hope that you are able to follow along with course and updates through various posts.  All course posts and updates can be found on your child's Google Classroom account for their math course this year.  Please contact me should you have trouble locating and/or accessing these updates via Google Classroom!  Thank you!

Attention Parents:

We will be using Google Classroom this year to submit homework assignments.  This online-type "classroom" will also be a place for your son/daughter to view important documents, links, videos etc.  Due dates are shown on the calendar, also, in your child's Google Classroom.  If you would like to set-up and receive email notifications on your child's progress, please send me an email ([email protected]) with the following information:  your name, your child's name, and your preferred email address.  From there, I can "invite" you to be a part of our Google Classroom.  You will be able to set-up the frequency in which you receive updates (i.e. weekly, daily, etc.) once I have your email address.  Feel free to call or email me with any questions or concerns at any time!  Looking forward to a great school year!!
