Mrs. Keagy is proud to be a member of the Red Lion Area Senior High School Foreign Language Department and Red Lion Area Senior High Academy. She is currently teaching Latin I, Latin II, Latin III, Latin IV, and Academy Life Skills.
Mrs. Keagy earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Gettysburg College double majoring in Latin and Psychology with a minor in Education. Following graduation, Mrs. Keagy spent a year at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill working as a Research Assistant for a Children’s Memory Study and studying Developmental Psychology. Next, Mrs. Keagy began teaching Latin at Red Lion Area Senior High School in 2002. She has since earned a Masters of Science in School Psychology from Millersville University, a Masters of Education in Reading from York College, and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in School Counseling from Messiah College. She has earned Pennsylvania teaching certifications in Latin K-12, Reading Specialist, Secondary School Counseling, and Elementary School Counseling.
The Foreign Language Department strives to provide a unique learning experience that not only focuses on language but also culture. Even though four separate languages are taught, the department enjoys working cooperatively to share ideas and best practices of foreign language teaching strategies. The mission of the Foreign Language Department is to encourage multicultural communication and prepare students to thrive in a global society.
